On 3 March 2019, members and volunteers of The Circle took part in Care International’s #March4Women.
It was an uplifting afternoon of speeches, entertainment, solidarity and action suitable for the whole family with the added plus of it being indoors, so no one got wet or cold!
Westminster Central Hall was used by the suffragettes 100 years ago to hold rallies and jamborees. We’ll be following in their footsteps by celebrating the progress we’ve made towards gender equality, with inspirational speeches, debate, and musical performances from our celebrity supporters.
The discussion focus on how to progress the global fight for gender equality by asking you to join us in calling for a worldwide treaty to protect women everywhere from violence and harassment in the workplace. There were contributions from activists from the UK and around the world – and attendees had the opportunity to lend their voice to the campaign.
Care International’s aim is to ensure that the most vulnerable and marginalised women and girls, including garment workers, domestic workers and those living in extreme poverty, have protection.
Thank you to those who joined The Circle for this fantastic event! You can watch the film showing highlights of the event below!
